Leaving your furry friend with dog boarding experts can feel thrilling but also nerve-wracking. Bringing the right essentials can help your pet adjust to a boarding situation more smoothly.

Comfort from Home: Bedding and Toys

Familiar items will make your dog feel comfortable and safe. Bring along their favorite blanket, bed, and/or a piece of clothing that smells like you. Comfort items remind dogs of home and reduce anxiety. Don’t forget to pack a couple of their favorite toys as well! Toys not only offer activity ideas during playtime, but they can also help take some of the stress out of downtime. Avoid packing too many items because of space, but bring the items that really do help in making your dog feel at ease.

Food, Treats, and Feeding Instructions

Always bring the dog’s food in quantities that will last the entire stay, along with a little extra in case of travel delays. Be sure to include feeding instructions that include serving sizes, feeding times, and any special dietary needs. Pack some favorite treats as well, so the boarding staff can use them for treat rewards during training, playtime, and help with settling in comfortably!

With this checklist in hand, you can leave for your trip knowing your furry companion is well-prepared, safe, and comfortable.
